Position Description:

Emmanuel Church in Abilene, KS, seeks a Youth Pastor. We want to see a youth pastor that doesn't just "do" the ministry but equips the adult leaders to fruitful student ministry. We want to see student leaders rise up and lead their generation for the gospel. This position also includes working with multiple staff members so that the church has continuity in ministry from children to adults. This position also requires someone with good Biblical knowledge and a gift to teach the Word, not just tell stories and play games. Intentional group building, relationship building and showing that following Jesus can be fun and adventurous, but demands commitment and sacrifice.

Position Qualifications:

Ideal candidates for this position would have a good understanding of a philosophy of ministry of how to reach the lost, disciple believers and equip all for ministry. A knowledge of the "4 chairs of discipleship" by Dann Spader or having Sonlife Ministry Training would be a plus. We want a leader that works with our children's minister on the basis of a plan to minister to each age group at their spiritual level of interest level. We want to see each student developed to the next step in their walk of faith. The candidate would have a great personal discipline of integrity, modeling the walk of faith to the students they would be working with.
