In this full-time role, eighty percent of your time will be devoted to building a captivating youth and children’s ministry, supervising a team that includes a nursery director, a preschool director, and an associate youth pastor. The remaining twenty percent of your time will be given to supporting adult leaders in generating transformative spiritual environments for adults.

Position Qualifications:

If you are a passionate team builder, have at least a Bachelor’s degree in theology or education, demonstrated experience working in Christian spiritual formation and education, embrace progressive theology, and are energized by the challenge of innovating relevant ministry in our rapidly changing culture, we’d love to hear from you!

Director of Children & Youth Ministries – Wilmington, DE

Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Director of Children & Youth Ministries.

The Director of Children and Youth Ministries is responsible for designing and facilitating a children and youth ministry program focused on building young disciples for Christ.

In leading these programs the Director will:

(1) work at building trust with children, youth, and their parents,
(2) be aware and sensitive to the spiritual and emotional needs of the children and youth,
(3) have a working knowledge of the Bible and ability make life applications,
(4) be familiar with and have the ability to utilize various learning experiences that relate to and hold the attention of children and youth, and
(5) identify and encourage children and youth to use their talents and spiritual gifts in mission and service.
