Maresi Brown has been on the staff of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, FL since 2004. Her current position is Director of Family Ministries, and she also does the church's Publications/Communications and leads Contemporary Worship. Maresi grew up in northwest Connecticut, attending what was then a UCC church, serving as a student leader and in the music ministries (her choir director father may have had a bit to do with that). She attended Shenandoah University Conservatory and earned a Bachelor of Music in Education, and after brief careers first as a middle/high school music educator and then as a preschool teacher, she and her husband Timon moved to St. Petersburg. There she began as a volunteer in the student ministry which quickly grew into a full time staff position. Maresi has also been a Coach for YMI since 2018. Maresi's passion is intergenerational ministries and she firmly believes that all generations are indispensibly a part of God's story. She and her husband are raising three kids - a high schooler, middle schooler, and a kindergartener; as well as their retired racing greyhound, Poppy. Maresi spends nearly every ounce of her spare time knitting.
