Director of Children’s Ministries, West Seneca – NY

Position Description:

Fellowship Wesleyan Church is looking to hire their next Director of Children’s Ministry. Director of Children’s Ministry Central Goal for this Position: To provide safe, life-giving, and age appropriate ministry to children ages birth to 5th grade and be the point person to connect parents to the ministry.

Position Summary: First and foremost, we need an enthusiastic leader who puts volunteers in place to succeed at using their gifts. There will be expectations to properly oversee all aspects of Children’s Ministry including Sunday Mornings, Wednesday nights, VBS, and other experiences to help children learn about their faith. While there is no expectation to be a master of all of these things, there is an expectation of continual learning, empowering volunteers to learn and act, and a commitment to improve our presentation each and every day.

Regular Duties:

  • Oversee the Nursery and Sunday School Classes each week.
  • Oversee the God’s Girl’s MInistry.
  • Oversee and empower the Royal Rangers Ministry
  • Build and maintain good relationships with the preschool and the Mother’s of Preschoolers group (M.O.P.s).
  • Participate in bimonthly staff meetings and be fully bought into the mission, vision, and covenant that we participate in at Fellowship Wesleyan Church.
  • Willing to work with local Children’s ministries for new ideas and encouragement.
  • Work with the Preschool director to oversee Vacation Bible School

Position Qualifications:

Education: Preferably 4 year program or equivalent with training in Education.

Experience: Participated in either a school, caretaking, or a church setting of ministry. We would also prefer someone with a background in education, christian education, or christian studies.

Youth Ministry Coordinator, Faiport – NY

Position Description:

Fairport United Methodist Church is looking for a part-time Youth Ministry Coordinator to share the radical love of Christ with our youth. This person must be passionate about guiding the spiritual development of Youth and helping them to find and build acceptance, faith, joy and fellowship in the church. This person will empower ministry by Youth, partner with Fairport UMC adults in ministry with Youth, ensure a safe environment, and comply with Fairport UMC’s Safe Sanctuaries policy.

Position Qualifications:

1. Organizational and Interpersonal Skills

  • A personal commitment to following Jesus and growing in personal Christian faith as well as a strong desire to serve within and outside the church.
  • Ability to work with youth and parents/adults involved in the ministry.
  • A willingness to be a community presence/representative of the church.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. e. Ability to plan, organize, lead Fairport UMC Youth Ministries as well as guide complex projects and spontaneous activities related to Youth ministries.
  • Competence in listening skills appropriate for Youth Ministry and recognizing when it’s necessary to seek assistance.
  • Willingness to work cooperatively with others, to maintain a positive outlook and disposition, and to be flexible in solving problems.
  • The ability to protect the reputation and integrity of others through maintaining confidentiality and compliance with Safe Sanctuaries.

2. Computer Skills

  • Ability to learn and use church technology and computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Breeze Church Management, Mail Chimp, etc.)

3. Experience

  • Experience working with youth, preferably in a ministry setting.
  • A believer, model, and leader in Christ’s church.
  • Completion of bachelor’s degree preferred.
