Student Ministries Pastor – Kalkaska, MI

Position Description:

We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated Student Ministries Pastor to join our team at Calvary Baptist Church of Kalkaska, MI. This role is tailor-made for someone with a fervent commitment to evangelism and a heart for mentoring the younger generation in a biblical and Christ-centered way. We're not simply looking for a caretaker for our church's youth; we want a dynamic visionary who will empower and equip our young members to be disciple-makers in their own right. This person should be an excellent vision caster, capable of inspiring, rallying, and building a robust team to reach and impact the youth of our community for Christ. We see this position as pivotal in transforming not only the lives within our walls but also extending far into the heart of our community. Responsibilities include:
  • Provide leadership and oversight to all children and youth ministries, ensuring a cohesive approach and alignment with the church's overall mission.
  • Directly oversee teen-focused programs, ensuring they are engaging, relevant, and spiritually enriching.
  • Supervise the KidZone coordinator, Children's Sunday school team, and Kid's Club leaders, offering guidance and ensuring all programs meet the church's standards.
  • Display a fervent passion for reaching out to unchurched youth, connecting with them, and introducing them to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the youth congregation both in numbers and spiritual maturity.
  • Cultivate a culture of discipleship within the youth ministry, ensuring every young person is being mentored and growing in their relationship with Christ.
  • Personally invest in the lives of teens, mentoring them and guiding them in their spiritual journey.
  • Empower and guide the youth to recognize and understand their unique spiritual gifts.
  • Provide avenues and opportunities for them to leverage their giftedness in serving and enhancing the life of the church.
  • Exhibit a willingness to be mentored and continuously grow in personal spiritual development.
  • Approach ministry with transparency, always rooted in their identity in Christ and receptive to guidance and counsel.
  • Ensure all teachings and programs are rooted in a proper understanding of the gospel and align with the church’s Statement of Faith.
