Position Description:
Lakeside United Methodist Church in Sanford, FL seeks a part-time Ministry Coordinator. The Ministry Coordinator is primarily responsible for translating the mission and vision of the church into impactful expressions. This includes assisting with the creation and oversight of ministry programs, as well as the recruiting, equipping, and empowerment of people in our community for ministry. This person will:- Work with the Pastor, ministry staff, and ministry leaders to generate creative ideas for programs, events, and experiences
- Facilitate turning creative ideas into reality
- Oversee the Life Groups program Including developing ideas for groups (occasional and on-going), researching curriculum options, recruiting and training group leaders, connecting participants into groups
- Participate in worship planning meetings and processes
- Working with the Communications Director to create resources o Print, digital, video, audio, etc.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Pastor Connections and Volunteer Empowerment
- Work with the Pastor, Hospitality, and Connections Team to create, maintain, and update systems that help visitors get connected to Lakeside
- Information collection, Visitor follow-up, Support of Next Steps, Lakeside 101, or similar experiences, Creation of discipleship pathway
- Develop, maintain, and update systems to identify and organize gifts, abilities, and passions of congregation and community members
- Create searchable and actionable data we can readily use
- Recruit, encourage, equip, and empower people to serve - Develop and oversee volunteer opportunities within Lakeside
- Including Sunday morning worship responsibilities
- Oversee opportunities to serve beyond the walls of Lakeside
- Work with the Pastor and Connections Team to train volunteers
- Ensure volunteers feel valued and like they are making an impact
Position Qualifications:
- Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to know, love, and serve God
- Agree to align with Lakeside’s purpose, vision, and journey including the theology and traditions of the United Methodist Church as well as the expectations detailed in our staff covenant and handbook
- Exemplify a passion to help people grow personally and spiritually
- Ability to recruit, inspire, motivate, and develop team members and volunteers
- Demonstrate creativity and openness to new ideas
- Ability to develop and oversee systems
- Ability to self-motivate and make independent decisions Knowledge
- Experience with computers is essential Ex. Microsoft Word, Excel, Planning Center, ProPresenter
- Creating and stewarding budgets Skills
- Problem‐solving, maintaining time, and following through on commitments
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills (including small and large group settings as well as on camera)
- Relational skills that create connection and inspire action
