Position Description:

Seminole Heights UMC is looking for our next Family Ministries Director to lead children, youth, and their families in our historic and vibrant congregation and community. The Family Ministries Director is primarily responsible for the discipleship of children, youth, and their families through spiritual formation, outreach, and worship.

Spiritual Formation: Work with the pastor, lay leaders, and staff to implement current children and youth ministries and plan new ministry opportunities.

  • Duties include but not limited to: creating weekly Children’s worship videos, planning and leading weekly Youth Group meetings, and overseeing Sunday morning children’s programming.

Outreach: Work with the pastor and lay leadership to expand small group offerings for children, youth, and families. Outreach

  • Coordinate outreach events geared towards families, including but not limited to community movie nights, Vacation Bible School, and annual Easter and Christmas celebrations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local schools and Seminole Heights United Methodist Preschool, in addition to other community partners with ongoing engagement.

Worship: Plan and coordinate weekly Dinner Church services, as COVID allows with the pastor, lay leadership, and staff, assist in planning worship, including special services.

  • Opportunities to lead could include reading in worship, participating in worship music, and preaching as appropriate to the candidate. d. Assist in running weekly worship livestream and engaging online worship viewers.

Position Qualifications:

A candidate for the position of Family Ministries Director shall be grounded in basic Christian doctrine, having and professing faith in Jesus Christ.

  • He/she shall be familiar and in consonance with Wesleyan theology, United Methodist Church Polity and practice.
  • He/she must have a thorough understanding of and ability in working with students and their families and shall demonstrate managerial skills necessary to carry out their duties.

Position Qualifications:


  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education or in an area of study related to adolescent development or related experience.
  2. Strong passion and experience in shepherding youth in their discipleship.
  3. Training or experience in the equipping organizational model.
  4. Proficient in understanding and use of social media platforms.
  5. Relevant experience in a large United Methodist church.

Youth Minister, Tampa – FL

Position Description:

West Broad Street Baptist Church is looking for their next part-time youth minister.

General Job Description: Working with youth in Christian Studies

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attendance in Sunday Morning worship Services and Wednesday evening services .
  • Weekly youth meetings on Sunday evenings.
  • One large youth event monthly and one smaller youth event monthly (ie: socializing with youth in youth house with pizza etc.) Planning, preparing and attending youth camp.
  • Manage youth budget and petty cash. Coordinate with the bookkeeper in tracking funds in designated and general fund by submitting all receipts in a timely manner.
  • Propose budgeted activities and purchase, with presentation to pastor prior to finalizing.
  • Discipleship and Outreach Actively reach out to students with the Gospel.
  • Invest in each student’s life with biblical teaching and application.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians keeping them involved.
  • Invite students and encourage them to invite more youth to attend church in order to reach them with the Gospel.
  • Schedule visitation and outreach activities.

Position Qualifications:

  • Comfortable sharing your personal testimony.
  • Some experience working with youth is preferred but training is available.
  • Must have the ability to prepare lessons and activities.

Director of Youth and Family Ministries, Tampa – FL

Grace Lutheran Church Tampa, FL is seeking to hire a full-time (40 hours) Director of Youth and Family Ministries for planning, implementing, directing, coordinating, and managing Christian Education ministry for the entire Grace Lutheran Faith Formation from nursery to adults. The Director is also responsible for selecting and supervising the volunteer teachers, leaders, facilitators, and assistants.

This position requires the equivalent minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, plus at least two years experience with youth and/or cross-generational ministry and faith formation. Must have a driver’s license and pass driving history and background checks.
