Director of Student Ministries, Loxahatchee – FL

Position Description:

Community of Hope is looking for their next full-time Director of Student Ministries. The Director of Student Ministries (DOSM) is responsible for ministry to 6th – 12th grade students.

Responsible for contextualizing the mission, vision, and values of Community of Hope within student ministry for the Loxahatchee campus. The DOSM recruits, trains, and empowers volunteer teams to lead Wednesday night services, small groups of students, execute the discipleship strategy of COH, and to create an atmosphere that provides a safe place for every student. The role of the Director extends to the families of students in the ministry, supporting and resourcing them as they navigate raising teenagers.

  • Humble and Hungry – Committed to improvement, seeks constructive criticism, understands strengths and weaknesses, continuous reading and learning.
  • Fast Paced – Organized, creative thinker and highly productive, working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
  • Wesleyan Theology – Embodies core Wesleyan theologies of grace and Holy love.
  • Leadership Gifts – Has strong spiritual gift of leadership with wise decision-making skills. Lead well upward to leadership as well as to team.
  • Gifted Communicator – Has spiritual gift of preaching and teaching in addition to strong public speaking skills and stage presence.
  • Volunteer Leadership – Experience in finding, developing, and keeping volunteers. Proven ability to work well with both youth and adult volunteers.
  • Team-oriented – The DOSM is a member of staff, pastor’s team, family ministries, & student ministry. Working together with others is essential.
  • Administrative Skills – Detail-oriented, the DOSM is responsible for all aspects of Student ministry including planning services, retreats & events; responding in a timely manner to all communications; overseeing the Student Ministry budget, and other tasks as necessary. Knowledge of social media platforms is required.
