Director of Youth and Children’s Ministries, Henderson, KY

Description:

The Presbyterian Church of Henderson, KY, is looking for a committed Christian leader with a passion for youth and children and their spiritual development as a follower of Jesus Christ. The ideal candidate has experience with youth and children in a church context who can relate well with youth, children, parents, and adult volunteers.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all programming for youth and children ministries throughout the church and after school children’s program • Lead and organize effective youth and children’s programs implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and outreach • Recruit, develop, and deploy youth and children’s ministry leaders and volunteers • Provide spiritual direction and counseling to youth and children • Seek to integrate youth and children into all areas of the church to create a culture that is intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries • Develop and maintain budget for youth and children’s ministries • Be aware of resources for developing youth and children, and participate in continuing education events and training opportunities • Be a liaison between the church and other community organizations, people, resources that relate to youth and children’s ministry • Connect and collaborate with other Presbyterian leaders in Youth and Children’s ministries in the Presbytery of Western Kentucky

Qualifications:

• Growing in Christian faith and character • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in education or Christian Education) • Desire to teach and mentor youth and children • Ability to work effectively with youth, children, and teams of volunteers • Strong communication skills both written and oral using all available resources: email, social media, website, newsletter, bulletin, Sunday announcements • Ensure the church’s Child Protection policy and Sexual Misconduct policy is followed • Background check required • Be an example to youth and children
